These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Alinda paper-trading application, available as a website at alinda.app and as a mobile app ("the Service"), operated by Alinda ("Alinda," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Alinda is
Alinda is a paper-trading simulation. All trades use virtual money. No real securities are bought or sold, no real funds are held, transferred, or invested, and Alinda is not a broker, dealer, exchange, investment adviser, or financial institution. The Service is provided for education and entertainment only.
Because Alinda is a simulation designed to be usable at any time, you can place buy and sell orders 24 hours a day, including when real markets are closed. Orders fill immediately at the most recent available price for the asset (for example, the last closing price while the market is closed), which may differ from the price at the next real-market open.
2. Not financial advice
Nothing in the Service is investment, financial, legal, accounting, or tax advice, and nothing is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or asset. Market data, prices, charts, and company or asset information may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate and are provided "as is." Do not make real-world investment decisions based on the Service. Any decisions you make in the real world are your own responsibility.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are able to enter into these Terms.
4. Your account
You sign in with an email and password or with a third-party provider such as Google. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for all activity under your account, and for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us promptly at contact@alinda.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
You choose a username (lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores) that must be unique and must not impersonate others, be offensive, or infringe anyone's rights. We may reclaim or change usernames where necessary.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- abuse, disrupt, overload, or attempt to break or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-download data except as expressly permitted;
- upload or create content that is unlawful, infringing, misleading, harassing, or offensive;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. Your content and public features
You retain ownership of the content you create (portfolio names, notes, and similar). By using social features you grant us the right to host, store, and display that content as needed to operate the Service.
Alinda includes public features. If you make a portfolio public, join a season, or appear on a leaderboard, your username, display name, profile, and that portfolio's performance may be visible to other users. Public portfolios are read-only to others. Season portfolios are public by design and remain viewable after the season ends. Keep a portfolio private if you do not want it shown. 7. Seasons and competitions
Seasons are virtual competitions ranked on a leaderboard using virtual-money performance. Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, seasons involve no real prizes, entry fees, or winnings and are for practice and fun only. Season portfolios use a fixed starting balance and are frozen and viewable after the season ends.
8. Alinda Pro subscription
Alinda Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks higher limits and extra features (for example, private portfolios, more portfolios and watchlists, full transaction history, and advanced statistics). Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and automatically renew until cancelled. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Prices and features may change, and any changes will apply to future billing periods. Refunds are handled by the Apple App Store under its policies, not by Alinda.
Downgrades and locked items
If your Pro subscription ends or lapses and your account holds more than the free plan allows, we do not delete anything. Instead, we keep your default portfolio plus your two most-recently-active public portfolios available, and we freeze any remaining portfolios — and all private portfolios — as read-only ("Locked"). Likewise, your first watchlist stays active and any others are frozen read-only. Frozen items are hidden where appropriate, cannot be traded or edited, and do not count toward your free-plan limits. Resubscribing to Pro restores full access to everything exactly as it was.
9. Intellectual property
Alinda and its content are protected by copyright and trademark law; please don't copy or resell them.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (such as authentication, hosting, market-data, and app-store providers) and may link to third-party sites or resources. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third parties, and their terms and privacy policies govern your use of their services.
11. Availability and changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including features, limits, and availability, without liability. We may impose or change usage limits for free and paid plans. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will always be accurate or available.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive.
13. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT AND DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT MARKET DATA IS ACCURATE, TIMELY, OR COMPLETE.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALINDA AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. BECAUSE THE SERVICE USES VIRTUAL MONEY ONLY, YOU CANNOT SUFFER REAL FINANCIAL TRADING LOSSES THROUGH IT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Alinda harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply. Where permitted, disputes will be subject to the courts of Türkiye.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "updated" date at the top. Significant changes may be communicated in the app or by other means. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
